| Seit einiger Zeit widme ich mich auch dem Tango Río Platense und nutze diese Bezeichnung, um deutlich zu machen, daß Argentinien zwar das Ursprungsland des Tangos ist, aber auch das Bruder- und Nachbarland Uruguay bedeutende Tangomusiker und Musikstücke beigetragen hat. Die stilprägenden Haupstädte Montevideo und Buenos Aires liegen an der Trichtermündung der Flüße Uruguay und Paraná, die man Río de la Plata nennt. |

| Wie kommt ein Nauheimer zum Tango? In den 90er Jahren bereiste ich immer wieder die beiden Tangoländer und lernte nicht nur Land und Leute kennen und schätzen, sondern auch die Sprache der Straße und den Tanz der Straße, den Tango. Bis heute kann ich ihn zwar nicht tanzen, dafür aber umso besser singen und interpretieren. Wäre ich Spanier würde mir das vielleicht schwerer fallen, denn selbst ein Julio Iglesias mit seinem polierten und unpassenden Festlandspanisch musste einräumen, daß er zwar Tango gesungen hat, dies aber "mal mal mal (schlecht schlecht schlecht)" tat. Hier sein selbstkritisches Interview dazu. Mein Repertoire besteht aus eben diesen 12 Titeln des Spaniers von seiner CD Tango aus 1996: |
Ich bin für Sie als Sänger buchbar mit zwölf weltberühmten Tangos, plus 3 Medleys aus jeweils vier Stücken als Zugabe. Die Orchestrierung ist nahezu identisch mit der von Julio Iglesias, die im Gegensatz zu seiner Aussprache von Kritikern und Argentiniern(!) hochgelobt wurde. Eine sündhaft teure Produktion mit den besten Musikern des Genres (Néstor Marconi am Bandoneon). Es erwartet Sie kein rauer Grammophonklang in mono, sondern philharmonisch arrangierte Neuzeit Orchestrierung mit samtweichen Geigen und sanften Übergängen.Normalerweise kommt Tangomusik ohne Schlagzeug aus, da die tangotypische Spielweise von Bandoneon, Klavier, Geigen und Flöten genügend Rhythmus erzeugt. Hier allerdings wurde es umgekehrt gemacht. Ein sanfter, pulsierender Schlagzeugrhythmus (mit dem Besen gespielt) begleitet einen weich laufenden Bass, nur wenige Klavierakzente aber üppig schmachtende Violinen, Celli und Kontrabässe eines großen Streichorchesters vermitteln ein ganz neues Tangogefühl. Jederzeit tanzbar, aber sanfter und vorhersehbarer.

* Für die wochenlange, filigrane Musikproduktion habe ich Klänge kombiniert, die sonst nur auf der Julio Iglesias CD zu finden sind. Die Originalaufnahmen
(ohne Gesang) kann man nicht kaufen und es gibt sicher nur ein paar wenige deutsche Sänger, die den Lunfardo Gesang live beherrschen. Deshalb gehe ich
vermutlich zurecht davon aus, daß zumindest in Deutschland kein anderer Musiker in dieser Konstellation buchbar ist.
Das Tango Projekt wurde im November 2017 in meinem Lieblingscafé Fellini erdacht, inspiriert durch meine Muse.

| Hace un tiempo me dediqué a cantar Tango Río Platense como suelo llamarlo para destacar que si bien Argentina es el país de orígen del tango, también el país fraternal y vecino Uruguay ha aportado músicos e piezas importantes al género. Las capitales que acuñaban el tango Montevideo y Buenos Aires se hallan en la desembocadura del Río Uruguay y Río Paraná llamada Río de la Plata. |

| Por qué un "gringo" canta tango? En los noventas viajaba frecuentemente a los dos países y no sólo conocí y aprecié su gente y su cultura sino también su idioma callejera y su danza criolla, el tango. Hasta el día de hoy no lo sé bailar pero al mismo tiempo lo aprendí a interpretar aún mejor. Si fuera español quizá me costaría más, porque hasta un Julio Iglesias con su castellano pulido e inapropiado ha tenido que admitir que si bien cantó el tango lo ha cantado "mal mal mal". Ud. me puede tener como cantante con doce famosos tangos, más 3 popurrís con cuatro temas cada cual. La orquestación es identica a la de Julio Iglesias que a diferencia de su pronunciación ha sido elogiada por críticos y argentinos(!). Una producción pecaminosamente cara con los mejores músicos del género (Néstor Marconi al bandoneón). A Ud. no le espera el sonido crudo e monofónico de una Victrola sino una moderna orquestación filarmónica arreglado con violinas aterciopeladas y transiciones suaves. Por lo general música tango no tiene batería ya que la manera tipica de tocar el bandoneón, piano, violinas y flautas produce suficiente ritmo. Aquí sin embargo se hizo al revés. Un pulso de batería muy sútil (tocado con escobillas) acompaña a un bajo caminante, con pocos acentos del piano pero con violinas, chelos y contrabajos de un grande orquesta de cuerdas opulentamente languideciendo transmiten un nuevo sentimiento tanguero. Siempre bailable pero más dulce y previsible.
Al contratarme Ud. recibe esa mezcla única* del sonido moderno con el canto clássico del lunfardo. Contráteme para su milonga al restaurán, hotel, bar, club o escuela de danza. * Para la producción de la música refinada he combinado sonidos que sólo se encuentran en el CD de Julio Iglesias. Los originales (sin su voz) no se pueden
comprar y habrá muy pocos cantantes alemanes que dominan el canto lunfardo en vivo. Por ello supongo que por lo menos en Alemania no haya otro músico
que ofrezca ese tipo de presentación.

| Some time ago I started singing Tango Río Platense how I call it in order to point out that even if Argentina is the tango's birthplace, the fraternal and neighboring nation of Uruguay has contributed important musicians and songs to the genre. The capitals that harbored the original tango Montevideo and Buenos Aires are situated on the estuary of the rivers Uruguay and Paraná commonly known as River Plate. |

| What makes a "gringo" sing tango? In the nineties I frequently visited the two countries and not only did I get to know and appreciate its people and culture but also their street language and their very own way of dancing, the tango. To this day I cannot dance it but on the other hand I learned how to sing it even better. If I was Spanish that would probably more of a challenge because even Julio Iglesias with his polished and ill-fitted mainland Spanish had to admit that though he did sing tango he did it "mal mal mal (bad bad bad)". You can book me as a singer with twelve famous tangos, plus 3 medleys of four songs each. The orchestration is identical to that of Julio Iglesias that contrary to his pronunciation was widely praised by critics and native Argentinians(!). A big budget production with the best musicians of the genre (Néstor Marconi on bandonion). You will not get the typical raw sound of monophonic gramophones but a modern philharmonic orchestration with lush violins and soft transitions. Generally speaking, tango music uses no drums because the rhythmic way of playing the bandonion, piano, violins and flutes produce enough beat. Here however, it was done the other way round. A subtle drum pulse (played with brushes) accompanies a walking bass, with few piano accents but lots of violins, cellos and double basses of a big string orchestra so opulently pining it conveys a whole new tango sentiment. Always danceable but much sweeter and more predictable.

* For this refined musical production I have combined sounds that you can only find on Julio Iglesias' CD. The original tracks (without voice) are nowhere to
be bought and there will be few German singers that can sing Lunfardo live. That's why I boldly assume that at least in Germany there will probably be no
other musician offering this type of presentation.

| Qualche tempo fa mi sono messo a cantare il Tango Río Platense come di solito lo chiamo per rimarcare che sebbene Argentina sia il paese dell'origene del tango, anche il paese fraterno e vicino Uruguay ha aggiunto musicisti e pezzi importanti al genere. Le capitali che cullarono il tango Montevideo e Buenos Aires si trovano nell'imboccatura dei fiumi Uruguay e Paraná chiamata Río della Plata. |

| Perché un "gringo" canta il tango? Negli anni novanta viaggiai spesso nei due paesi e non solo conobbi e apprezzai la sua gente e la cultura ma anche la sua lingua della strada e la sua danza creola, il tango. Finora non ho imparato a ballarlo ma allo stesso tempo ho imparato ad interpretarlo ancora meglio. Se fossi spagnolo forse farei più fatica, perché anche un Julio Iglesias con il suo spagnolo pulito e inappropriato ha dovuto ammettere che sebbene abbia cantato il tango lo ha cantato "male male male". Posso essere ingaggiato come cantante con dodici più famosi tanghi in repertorio, più 3 medley con quattro brani ognuno. L'orchestrazione è identica a quella di Julio Iglesias che a differenza della sua pronuncia fu lodata dai critici e argentini(!). Una produzione molto cara con i migliori musicisti del genere (Néstor Marconi al bandonion). Da il suono crudo e monofonico di un grammofono sino ad una moderna orchestrazione filarmonica arrangiata con violini vellutati e transizioni soavi. In generale la musica del tango non usa battería perché la maniera tipica di suonare bandonion, piano, violini e flauti produce sufficiente ritmo. Quí comunque è stato fatto il contrario. Un pulso di battería molto sottile (suonato con bacchette) accompagna un basso in 4 con pochi accenti del pianoforte ma con violini, celli e contrabassi di un grande orchestra d'archi opulentemente languendo trasmettono un nuovo "sentimento tanguero". Sempre ballabile ma più dolce e prevedibile.
